Andy King

Andrew (Andy) Edward KING

Local boy Andy joined the Hatters from school before making his League debut on the final day of the 1974/75 campaign while still only 18. A quick, two footed midfielder with an eye for goal Andy set Division Two alight in the following season and although the club’s parlous financial state was well known it still rankles that only £40,000 was paid by Everton for his services in April 1976.
Andy became a favourite on Merseyside and then spent time with QPR, West Brom and Wolves before eventually returning to Luton for a short spell in 1985 and then finishing his League career with Aldershot.
A time in the commercial department at Kenilworth Road was followed by managerial stints at Mansfield and Swindon amongst others. Andy sadly passed away in 2015.
