David Geddis

David GEDDIS

David was part of the highly successful youth set up at Ipswich and was sent out on loan as a 19 year old to Second Division Luton in 1977 to gain experience. He scored some vital goals as the Hatters attempted to win promotion back to the top flight and his speed, power and enthusiasm encouraged Luton manager Harry Haslam to try to sign him.
Ipswich manager Bobby Robson had other ideas though and David won an F.A.Cup winners medal the following season before being transferred to Aston Villa in 1979.
At Villa, David found it difficult to oust Peter Withe or Garry Shaw so he started drifting down the divisions where his strike rate was always excellent.
David then became reserve team coach at Leeds and was caretaker manager for a short time.
