Kirk Stephens

Kirk William STEPHENS

After spending four years on the books of his local side Coventry as a schoolboy, Kirk was told he was not good enough and joined non-League side Nuneaton then managed by David Pleat.
When Pleat took over the hot seat at Luton one of his first signings was all-action overlapping full-back Kirk, who was soon nicknamed ‘Basher’ by the Kenilworth Road faithful.
After making his League debut on the opening day of the 1978/79 campaign, Kirk was virtually ever present over the next six seasons before returning to his first love Coventry and then having to quit the game through injury two years later.
Kirk still lives in Nuneaton working in the family business and also works on Coventry City match day radio.
