RW Tricker

Reg Tricker

Reginald (Reg) William TRICKER

Reg was born in Karachi in 1905 but his parents moved back to Suffolk three years later.
Joining Luton as an amateur in the summer of 1924, whilst also studying at teacher training college, Reg only got four first team chances in 1924-25 at centre-forward as deputy to Andy Kerr.
Leaving Luton for Charlton at the season’s end, the older and more experienced Reg started to get more game time and also get noticed. He eventually turned professional in 1927 when Arsenal put in a bid of £2250 for his services.
After 18 months at Highbury, where he played only 12 games, he left for Clapton Orient for £1000 and found this more to his liking as he finished top scorer for three seasons running.
Eventually finishing his career at Margate and Ramsgate, Reg then turned to his teaching qualification before passing away in Hendon in 1990.
