Wayne Turner

Wayne Leslie TURNER

Luton born Wayne signed on for the Hatters in April 1978 before making his League debut a year later at Wrexham.
A ball winning midfielder, Wayne could never win a regular spot in the Hatters side, much to his disappointment, as he always gave 100% to the cause.
The signing of Peter Nicholas was the final straw and Wayne accepted a move to Coventry in 1985 where he was immediately made captain. A succession of injuries cut back his appearances at Highfield Road and he moved on to Brentford where he was again in the wars.
A move to Conference side Barnet was more to his liking and after four years there he took up a coaching role at Underhill followed by a long stint on the coaching staff back at Luton.
After leaving Kenilworth Road, Wayne joined Peterborough and later managed Stevenage before focussing his attentions on his property business.
