Westby HEATH

Born in Ribblesdale in 1891, Westby had failed to claim a first team place at Leeds City so was pleased to be offered a trial at Luton in August 1914.
The trial was soon converted into a contract and the play anywhere skilful footballer was used in three different positions in his seven games for the club in 1914-15.
Joining the Royal Army Medical Corps in 1915, Westby was wounded in action but enjoyed four seasons at Stockport once hostilities had ceased and finished his career at Chester.
Westby passed away in Beeston, Leeds in 1961.
